Hello,
this is Channel Ace.
My Yamaha XV1100 was made in 1995,
When maintaining an old motorcycle,
Bolts and nuts do not loosen easily,
It’s hard to lick the head of the screw again.
I think there are some people who can’t get over this wall and bring it to the store.
Today, you can loosen stuck bolts, etc.
Let me introduce you to a powerful ally.
Preparation to loosen stuck bolts
I’m short-tempered, so
I thought, “I want to disassemble it quickly!”
I suddenly grabbed the tool and tried to loosen the bolt, but I licked it. . .
That’s what I often say.
But old bike bolts, nuts and screws
It is often stuck (a state of being stuck tightly with rust or dust).
First of all, I’ll try to loosen this fixation.
In my case, first use parts cleaner and air,
Remove dirt such as sand.
If it is very dirty, use a toothbrush to scrub it.
Once it’s clean, here’s what’s next!
It’s Kure 5-56!
This is mineral oil, and it seems that rust inhibitors, petroleum solvents, and PTFE are added.
In particular, PTFE is so-called fluorine, so it has good lubricity.
(As an aside, since fluorine is being regulated in Europe,
I think it’s possible that sales will be discontinued in the future.
So maybe it’s better to buy up now? ! )
Blow 5-56 aiming at the gap between the parts you want to remove.
It is better to mask the areas you do not want to spray,
I will wash the car last, so I will spray it without worrying about it.
After that, lightly tap the head of the bolt several times with a hammer as a charm.
(To remove the stuck state.)
Let’s loosen (bolts, nuts)
Frankly, box wrenches and socket wrenches are recommended!
Fit the bolt or nut you want to remove,
Remove it by tapping it lightly with a hammer.
You can remove it by hand, but
If it is stuck, it will be easier to peel off if you give it a shock.
I’ll tap it with a hammer to see if it comes loose.
Let’s loosen (screws)
Screws are more troublesome than nuts and bolts.
I think the head of the screw is plus or minus,
Especially the plus head is easy to lick.
Lightly tap the screw from the top, bottom, left, and right with a hammer in advance as described above.
This guy is here!
It’s an impact driver.
This is an excellent product that can be loosened while impacting.
Easy to use.
First, set as follows.
Then put an impact driver on the screw,
Let the screw and the shaft bite in so that they are aligned,
Just hit it with a hammer from behind.
The point is to make the axis straight each time you hit it with a hammer.
Since the fixed screws are not easily loosened,
I think you should put in a little more effort than you think.
For those tough guys who never loosen up, this is it! !
I licked the head of a bolt or screw
In such a case, this is it!
It’s Nejisaurus!
If you can grab the head with this guy, all you have to do is spin it around!
I was skeptical until I used it, but I was able to remove it quite easily.
This jaggedness seems to be the point.
Please buy one when you need it. smile
If you cannot grasp the screw head,
1. Make streaks with a grinder,
Use a flathead screwdriver (impact driver is better) on the streak
Insert and remove.
2. Drill a hole in the center of the screw, thread it with a reverse tap,
Install the bolt, unscrew it and remove it.
This is how I fight old bike screws.
If there is an easier way than this, please let me know in the comments.
Summary
What did you think?
This time, I introduced how to remove stuck bolts, nuts, and screws.
If you try this method and the parts are damaged, I will not be held responsible.
Don’t be sorry.
When dealing with so-called old cars,
It is almost always necessary to remove parts.
In order not to accumulate stress as much as possible,
I want you to work in order.
If you have a special move when you can’t come off,
I think you can work with peace of mind.
So, have a comfortable bike life!
see you.
I look forward to your comments,
