Hello, this is Channel Ace.
Last time, I talked about the compatibility of the XV1100 battery.
I would like to do the battery replacement myself, but
What should I do if I get an electric shock?
In fact, when you get an electric shock, it doesn’t hurt, but it still hurts. . .
If you follow the rules properly, you can replace the battery yourself, so
Today, I will introduce how to replace the battery using the XV1100 as an example.
Prepared to remove the battery
Well, the XV1100 battery is under the seat on the right side.
First, remove the side cover by pulling it out.
It will look like this.
From here, remove the sheet to improve workability.
The hexagon wrench (No. 5) that secures the seat is a little farther, so
As shown in the photo below, if you use a box wrench together and apply torque,
Easy to remove.
It’s a little technique, so please try it in a hard-to-reach place.
The left side can be removed using a normal hex wrench.
Then remove the seat band.
It’s just hooked on, so it’s easy to remove.
After this, the seat will come off.
Easy, isn’t it?
Removing old battery
First, pull the battery out about halfway.
(I tried to pull out all of them, but the wires are too short to pull out.)
The negative side comes out.
Battery replacement is the most important thing.
When removing: Disconnect negative first, then positive (plus).
When installing: Install positive (plus) first, then negative.
Reversing this procedure can cause sparks and short circuits.
Remove the negative wire that is exposed.
Then, the entire battery can be pulled out toward you, so
Pull it out until you can see the positive side, and remove the positive side.
Installing new battery
I will install a new battery.
All you have to do is reverse the removal work.
Install the positive wire.
In this work, unexpectedly, the bolt does not bite into the nut properly. . .
My technique is
Attach the masking tape to the nut side and turn the bolt while
I’m doing it with a near ring.
Once the bolt is secured, you can remove it by pulling the masking tape.
Once the positive wiring is installed,
Push the battery in and attach the negative side as well.
Then push the battery all the way in.
Here, we recommend that you check to see if the power is working properly.
After restoring the bike completely, if the wiring is connected incorrectly,
When trouble such as not being connected occurs, I have to disassemble it again.
If you can check the electricity, all you have to do is restore the bike and you’re done.

I uploaded the situation before and after the battery replacement.

Summary
Thank you for your reading.
I think it takes about 30 minutes to replace the battery.
As long as you follow the installation and removal procedures, you can work safely.
If the battery fluid is leaking,
If you don’t know, ask a contractor or get help from someone who knows.
(Basically, even if you get hurt, you are responsible for yourself…)
Have a nice bike life!
It’s sudden, but for some reason I decided to let go of the XV1100.
From now on, we will focus on DAX (ST50) and XXXX (secret)
We would like to upgrade.
