I wanted to start the engine after a long time, so I was concentrating on the restoration.

I had neglected the XV1100.

 

When winter turns to spring and the temperature and humidity change,

The so-called cabrator bike needs fuel adjustment.

The XV1100 has a large displacement, so I don’t really feel the influence of the season,

unstable idling,

The area where it blows up and power comes out will change.

 

Today, I added a mechanism to adjust the idling speed,

Let me introduce.

 

How does adjust the idling?

Recently, FI (fuel injection) bikes are increasing,

As the controls idling automatic,

It’s nice to not have to worry.

 

On the other hand, carburetor bikes vary depending on the season and the warm-up state of the engine.

It feels good, it becomes unstable,,,

Isn’t there a time when you think it’s hard to handle?

 

My XV1100 runs great when cold and becomes unstable when warm.

In particular, the idling speed drops,

It often stalls before starting from waiting for a signal. . .

 

That’s why I wanted to adjust the idling easily.

By the way, where to adjust the idling,

By twisting the parts like this picture,

You can adjust the rpm. (You know that. LOL)

 

The throttle and this kamaboko are connected by a wire,

It’s a simple mechanism that turns the kamaboko when you twist the throttle.

In other words, the number of rotations is determined by the position of rotation of this kamaboko.

 

Equipped with an idling adjustment device!

Now that I know how to adjust the idling,

I’m going to make an idling adjustment device right away.

 

The important thing here is the rigidity of the stay.

Kamaboko has a rotating spring, so

Even when idling, there is always tension,

There is a rotating force (torque) that tries to return.

 

Because this force is always received, if the stay is weak, the stay will be deformed,

The position of the kamaboko cannot be kept constant = idling becomes unstable.

There are 2 stages. It is like this.

Just buy an iron plate and bend it to the desired angle with a hammer.

Since the stay is tightened together with the bolt of the engine,

It is better to make a hole before bending the iron plate.

By the way, I used a 3.2 mm iron plate.

 

How to adjust the idle?

The idle adjuster is spring loaded.

With a spring, you can adjust the idling by simply turning the dial without tools.

Even when the idling speed changes before and after the engine warms up,

It is very convenient because it can be easily adjusted.
